Joseph Hamilton

AMFT, MA – THERAPIST

Joseph is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT125725). He holds a Master of Science Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from California State University, Los Angeles, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Theology, both from Biola University.

His background and experience as a pastor and executive trainer complement his clinical work. The skills he’s learned in these disciplines help him create relatable and effective interventions for his clients.

Joseph helps his clients learn to compromise, communicate effectively, and understand how their home-life impacts their mental health and ability to function in society.

Joseph’s clinical approach is influenced by his belief that the family system significantly shapes a person’s mental health, beliefs, and behaviors. He realizes that no two clients are the same, so he takes time to get to know them and then creates a plan to meet goals customized to their needs.

Previously, he fueled his passion for working with marginalized and under-resourced clients by providing counseling for emancipated young adults and at-risk students in LAUSD, Torrance Unified, and El Monte School Districts.

During his six-year career providing mental health services, Joseph has been dedicated to helping his clients overcome relationship and mental health challenges, so they can live healthy lives of purpose and passion. He helps his clients with marital and family problems, teen challenges, PTSD, anxiety, and depression.

Joseph is supervised by Kim Simmonds (LMFT89466).
